The mission of the Hands for Help Nepal environmental program is to mobilize its volunteers to help reduce the environmental destruction created by poverty, unemployment, and illiteracy. Volunteers will be deployed in this environmental campaign in co-ordination with local representatives, schools, Youth Clubs, Mother Groups and other service oriented organizations. The campaign includes waste management, awareness-raising, and general environmental education. Volunteers focusing on environmental education may have several major activities. Some volunteers may form environmental clubs such as a “Green Club” to help students learn about and study the environment. Volunteer projects may also include managing programs such as school gardens, compost piles, or recycling programs. Volunteers may provide education on environmental topics such as smokeless stoves, pit toilets, and how to re-use materials.Health and Sanitation Program
